Why Location Accuracy Changes
Location results are not always the same
Location services often combine GPS, Wi-Fi, mobile network data, and estimates from the browser or operating system. As a result, your position can vary slightly even when you stay in the same place.
Indoor and outdoor differences
GPS usually works better outdoors. Indoors, walls and building structures can weaken the signal, so Wi-Fi or nearby network estimates may have more influence and show a broader building-level or block-level result.
Device and browser settings also matter
Battery-saving mode, an outdated browser, location permission settings, and unstable connectivity can all affect accuracy. For better results, allow location access and try again with a stable network connection.
How to improve accuracy
- Try again outdoors or near a window when possible.
- Make sure location access is allowed in your browser.
- Check again after a few seconds instead of relying on the first result only.
